Dunav Ultra: Hungry for speed
682 km in less than 48 hrs challenge - along Danube to the Black Sea on a single speed bicycles
On July 11, 2015, two cyclists started in an attempt to successfully overcome the 682-km Dunav Ultra Cycle Route (along the Danube River to the Black Sea) within 48 hours – Boris Begamov (46) and Petar Zlatkov (32). Their endeavor is complicated by the fact that they were planning to complete the distance by single speed bicycles.
The campaign was named “Dunav Ultra 2: Hungry for Speed” and has the cause of popularizing the settlements along the Danube River in Bulgaria and the trans-continental cycle track Euro Velo 6. The two cyclists managed to finish successfully, recording a time of 44:40:00 hrs. The campaign finds a wide response on the Internet like “One Crazy Facebook Reality.”
