Cycle the Danube to the Black Sea. Earn Your Certificate.

The Dunav Ultra Certificate is official recognition of successfully completing the route in accordance with the established rules. It is sent by email as a PDF file, which you can print and frame as a lasting reminder of your achievement.

By earning your certificate, you become part of the Dunav Ultra mission to promote more than 120 towns and villages along the Danube River and in Dobruja, through or near which the route passes.

To date, Dunav Ultra has issued over 1,000 certificates to cyclists who have successfully completed the route from the Danube River to the Black Sea.

To earn your Dunav Ultra Certificate, you must complete the route within the current calendar year and verify your passage through the designated checkpoints using the Dunav Ultra App.

There are two ways to do this:

1. Ride Independently or with Friends

Choose when to start and complete the route at your own pace. To activate the Checkpoints feature in the Dunav Ultra App, you will need the Dunav Ultra Adventure Kit, which includes a personal access code.

2. Join the Annual Group Ride

Take part in the organised event held in late summer. Participation requires a registration package that includes everything you need to verify your progress along the route and earn your certificate.

Both options offer different experiences, but  the certificate is the same. Choose the adventure that suits you best!

There is only one Dunav Ultra Certificate, but the journey towards earning it is entirely up to you. The difference lies in the experience.

With the Dunav Ultra Adventure Kit

You decide when to start, how to travel and at what pace. Along the way, you discover specially selected checkpoints featured in the Dunav Ultra App, including landmarks and lesser-known places. You have the freedom to stop, explore the regions and turn your journey into a personal cycling adventure.

With a Registration Package for the Annual Mass Ride

The route comes alive with fellow cyclists, volunteers, organised checkpoints and a unique atmosphere. Your journey becomes a shared sporting challenge, filled with experiences and emotions alongside other riders. To take part, you need to purchase a registration package for that year’s event.

There is no fixed time limit. How long your journey takes depends on how you choose to experience Dunav Ultra.

With the Dunav Ultra Adventure Kit

There is no limit on the number of days, provided you meet the verification requirements within the current calendar year.

You can complete the route in one continuous journey or divide it into separate stages. You set your own pace, decide when to rest and choose how much time to spend discovering landmarks and interesting places along the way.

This option is ideal if you want to explore the regions in greater depth. For a more rewarding experience, we recommend allowing  7, 10 or more days.

With a Registration Package for the Annual Mass Ride

The pace is more dynamic, depending on your fitness level and the event schedule.

Your certificate reflects how long it takes you to complete the route, with the following categories:

“48 hours” – An extreme endurance challenge.
“Up to 5 days”
“Up to 7 days”
“More than 7 days”

The physical demands are greater, but the atmosphere is filled with energy, enthusiasm and shared experiences. It’s an opportunity to test your limits and experience Dunav Ultra as a true sporting challenge.

Review and validation of your certificate request take up to 3 business days after submission through the Dunav Ultra App.

Once we confirm that you have met all the route completion requirements, you will receive your personalised certificate by email as a PDF file, ready to print.

The Dunav Ultra Certificate is included in either the Dunav Ultra Adventure Kit or the registration package for the annual group ride. How you receive your certificate depends on the option you choose.

Dunav Ultra Adventure Kit

Once your route completion has been successfully verified, you will receive a personalised PDF certificate by email. You can print it, frame it and keep it as a lasting reminder of your achievement.

If you choose the Collector’s Edition of the Dunav Ultra Adventure Kit, you will receive a framed certificate featuring your name handwritten and a special holographic sticker.

Annual Mass Ride

To participate in the annual group ride, you need a registration package that includes everything required to verify your route completion.

At the finish in Durankulak, you will receive a physical certificate featuring your handwritten name and a holographic sticker. You will also receive a PDF version by email.
